Punjabi by Nature – Iftar Dinner Preview

Never Say No to Food – You will be Punjabi by Nature!!

Punjabi by Nature is a modish casual dinning restaurant that portrays rustic Punjabi overtone through its decors. The table mats & wallpapers were quite interesting with some funny quotes, making  a vivacious Punjabi ambiance. The restaurant extends an authentic Indian food with equally extensive veg and non-veg options.

Their iftar dinner menu was on rotation patterns offering different dishes for each days of a week & gradually it will be repeated. Iftar dinner was focused on Indian flavors with traditional roots. The buffet spread offered some delicious Chats, Kebabs, Curries & Biriyani.

We started off our iftar with indian iftar staples which were displayed in not vey capacious counter. It had a serving of dates, vegetable salad, fruit salad, channa chaat, pakoras, hara bara kebab, chicken spring rolls with raita and chutney. Pakoras were perfectly crisp and also seasoned beautifully & with chutney on side I absolutely savored it. As iftar drinks they just had a serving of Mango lassi which was deliciously rich & thick. But I wish they offered few more options of drinks rather than soft drinks.

We headed to to appetizer and main course counter with our peckish tummy. It had a serving of Murg bara kebab, Makmalai sheekh kebab, Amritsari fish, Tandoori khumb, Sarson paneer tikka, Lamb Biryani, Bhatti da Murg, Maan Sabat, Malai Kofta, Aloo Methi, Lamb Rogan Josh and Kadai Chicken. The main course dishes couldn’t impress me much. The buffet itself wasn’t too extensive which would a main let down for many. But nevertheless to say, few dishes were absolutely delicious. The dishes that stood out were Tandoori khumb, Malai Kofta & Murg bara kebab. Malai Kofta was the highlight of my dinner. This delightful Indian dish was full of flavors with kofta that will just melt in your mouth.

Rasmalai and Gajar ka halwa were the dessert servings. Both were equally impressive. Rasmalai was absolutely delicious and creamy, definitely one of the best Rasmalai we have had. But it lacks in presentation that didn’t do justice to the taste of the dish. Nevertheless we absolutely devoured it.

Overall our iftar at Punjabi by Nature was all about hit and miss dishes highlighted with few dishes which were full of flavors depicting the traditional roots. Also, I loved the quirky take on restaurant ambiance. At pricing 68 AED per person, it’s a much affordable iftar deal.
