I was one among the fortunate foodies who relived a special occasion with a memorable meal prepared by the Man himself – gastronomy maestro Heinz Beck. We got to sample his astounding creations that were extremely decedent. He amazed the guests with brilliant cooking and exclusive menu that was intelligently composed and superbly executed.
Highlight of the feast
Canapes were extremely decedent, and the loaves were excellent, my favorite was the toasted baguette with fig and beacon that was served fresh and light .
A nibble of mussels , prawns and calamari served as cold fish salad were pleasant enough, with the extreme freshness in ingredients, though it was hardly life-changing.
A pretty dish called “Calamari E Zucchine Fritti” used calamari and zucchini fried with herbs and served in paper cone. The calamari were very good, the zucchini itself was adding a lot of flavor to it.
“Mezzo Rigatone Con Cacio E Pepe” is the restaurant signature dish and was as good as ever with the liquid filling of the pasta that was delightful and the seasoning was precise. It was a short Italian pasta in creamy cheese and black pepper with pea foam infusion and prawns that was executed excellently. The prawns was beautifully cooked and the pea foam having a deep flavor itself .
A dish that involved steak with a delicate puree underneath in the form of potatoes on the dish as a reduction. The concentration of flavor in the Steak was remarkable with the sauce providing just enough flavor to prevent the richness from being overwhelming. This was a spectacular dish, the modern technique here allowing the dish to not be too rich yet retaining its essential flavor and essence.
Desserts were extremely beautiful yet decadent. A mini tiramisu was spectacular and delicate as were a little cylinder containing creme patisserie. Fruit salad with ginger sorbet stood out particularly with magnificent flavor and so the chocolate pastry that was lusciously rich.
A wide range of exotic mocktails were available that had an amazing punch and freshness. I particularly loved the strawberry cocktail that was infused with fresh herbs.
Service was superb from start to finish, as polished as you could wish for. There is nothing less you could relive from a 3-Star Michelle chef venture. An extravagance indulgence for all my fellow food loving zealots.
