Koi, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.

Romantic settings don’t get more splendidly over the top than the chic restaurant , Koi that’s nested at the Capital. Ultra-efficient, warm and welcoming is like everything you want from a special date venue or a venue to celebrate your special day or a laid-back night out venue. They will promise you a utterly glamorous dinning experience in the most exquisite ambiance.

The restaurant menu predominantly showcases Japanese cuisine infused with modern Californian accents. If you’re looking for a classy Tartare or Carpaccio, delicious Tempura, or fresh Sushi & Sashimi or Hand & Cut rolls or a full-blown modernized Kaiseki experience , you’ll find it all in their menu. Every plate is a thing of beauty , it’s flavors as intriguing as they clearly know a thing or two about high-end modern-Japanese dining.

Take the must-order list here;

  • Salmon Carpaccio with black truffle in Ponzu dressing – It stands as the best Carpaccio I have ever had. It primarily consist of paper-thin slices of salmon and black truffle and tastes like a charm with earthy flavor of truffle. Easily a thing of luxury with it’s simplicity and flavorsome.

  • Sauteed Tiger Prawns Sweet and Spicy Glaze – This traditional oriental Japanese dish had a number of different flavors that blends into a unique taste sensation with an amazing balance of acidity and sweetness.

  • ‘Miso’ Bronzed Black Cod Medley of Vegetables – This is the fish dish to order when you’re want to blow away your co-diner.  It’s their signature dish that’s one of the plumpest , softest and fluffiest fish dish- a must-try. The Black cod was skilfully cooked and served with assorted vegetables.

  • Koi Dragon Roll with Shrimp tempura, Eel and Baked Crab – This very plate of sushi roll scores a perfect ten for beauty and flavor – it was mind blowing and simply perfect.

Our dinning at Koi was climaxed with a glamorous dessert platter that was feast for your eyes with the showstopper and jaw-dropping desserts with a full-on flavor to match that flamboyant appearance.

Indeed Koi is a hip destination for those who don’t want to have to compromise on food, cocktails, ambiance or service. The service was sweet and eager, and the dishes arrived fast without having to wait much.
